This book serves two basic identification needs. The first is that of the typical collector who is trying to identify a Chevy V-8 component which may be in a salvage yard or swap meet. This book will help identify what kind of vehicle the component was originally installed on. The second need helps determine if it is the correct part. To identify a component, simply find the cast or stamped-in identification number, turn to the appropriate section in the book and look it up. There are casting numbers for big and small engine blocks, crankshaft, big and small cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, intake manifolds, Carter Carburetor, Holley Carburetor, Rochester Carburetor, fuel pump, water pump, generator/alternator, starter, distributor and EGR valve.
