Porsche Carrera GT

Porsche Carrera GT

• The Porsche-Carrera book for the sportscar’s huge fanbase

• Development history and all technical data in a fact book

• The supercar spectacularly staged by Stefan Bogner

• The whole small series of the Carrera GT in a large-format coffee-table book

Originally planned for motorsport, just a happy chance landed the Carrera GT on the road: its technical data speak for themselves. The V10 naturally aspirated engine was a masterpiece of Porsche designers, while the chassis got its finishing touches through the fine tuning by rally world champion Walter Röhrl. This richly illustrated Porsche book presents the high-speed sportscar (top-speed 330 km/h) to the detail. A body of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymers, carbon-ceramic brakes, the pushrod suspension system: a lot of things distinguish the Porsche Carrera GT from other sportscars. The extra fact book compiles all information on this car – and with the Porsche coffee-table book in a fine box it makes for a brilliant gift for fans. Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Porsche Carrera GT!

A Life In Porsche 911

A Life In Porsche 911

For twenty years I have been an automotive journalist. Like many car fans, I have always adored Porsche, for its history, its singularity, its evolution. Having previously described my love for the Range Rover, another unique vehicle, it seemed unimaginable to me not to celebrate the sixty years of the 911.

I have been able to do so by drawing on my own archive of more than five hundred adverts and catalogues, and by exploring the archives of the Porsche Museum, which collaborated closely in this this book. The commercial success of the 911 owes not a little to Porsche’s communication, which has proved simple, effective, and sometimes a bit provocative. Judge for yourself, the brand’s advertisements and catalogues are often little gems.

PORSCHE 911 2.7 – 3.0 – 3.2 LITRE 1973-1989 WORKSHOP MANUAL

PORSCHE 911 2.7 – 3.0 – 3.2 LITRE 1973-1989 WORKSHOP MANUAL

Updated from its previous format to include the later 3.2 Litre models through 1989. This Floyd Clymer publication includes complete technical data, service and maintenance information and comprehensive detailed instructions for the repair and overhaul of all major and minor mechanical and electrical components for the 1973 to 1989 Porsche 911G Series, 2.7, 3.0 and the 3.2 Litre models.

In its original format, this manual covered the Porsche 911 models through the 1978 model year. However, additional information for the earlier 2.7 and 3.0 Litre models that was not available at the time the original manual was published, is now included or appended to each chapter in this revised publication.

While this manual focuses on the 1973-1989 G series 911, much of the information is also applicable to the earlier 2.4 Litre (1971-73) models destined for the U.S.A., Australia, Japan and Canada that, due to emission requirements, were fitted with Bosch mechanical fuel injection (FIP). Consequently, this manual will also be of interest to owners of those 2.4 litre fuel injected models.

The manual is broken down into the following sections: Engine, Fuel System including Bosch mechanical fuel injection (FIP) continuous injection (CIS) and digital fuel injection (DME). Ignition Systems including Capacitive Discharge CDS, CDI and DME, Cooling, Heating & Exhaust Emission Systems, Clutch, Manual Transmission & Sportomatic Transmission, Rear Suspension & Drive Axles, Front Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Electrical System and Body. There is also an appendix to the rear of the manual that includes Technical Specifications and Wiring Diagrams.

While reprints of the factory manual are readily available, they are relatively expensive and we are pleased to be able to offer this reasonably priced alternative as a service to all 1973-1989 Porsche 911 enthusiasts worldwide.

248 pages, 311 illustrations plus an additional 66 pages of wiring diagrams, size 8.25 x 10.75 inches

There is also a chapter that includes Torque Settings, comprehensive Technical Specifications and Lubrication information.

The nine-eleven has been in production for over 60 years!

More than 60 years have passed since the Porsche 911 was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1963, still as the Type 901. If things keep going this way, the Porsche 911 will surpass the 65-year production run of the VW Beetle (1938-2003). The book “Porsche 911 -60 Years” takes an in-depth look at how a small team of employees was able to create a sports car legend that is still unmatched today.

Interviews with the most important developers of the Porsche 911

All the important contemporary witnesses to the development of the 911 have their say in detailed interviews, including visionary Ferry Porsche, who came up with the only sensible concept for the successor to the 356.

And, of course, a detailed conversation with F.A. Porsche, under whose direction this century-old design in automotive engineering was created, is not to be missed.

Porsche engineering legend Hans Mezger reports on the development of the 911 engine, but Helmuth Bott, Peter Falk and Herbert Linge also provide intensive insights into the exciting period of 911 development.

All 82 Porsche 901 from 1964 are presented

In addition to interviews with contemporary witnesses, the book presents unpublished color photographs of the 901 presentation tour in 1963 and 1964. In addition, all 82 Neunelfer models that rolled off the production line as the Type 901 at the start of series production can be presented in detail for the first time.

The story of the 901 prototype quick blue is told

The book also takes an in-depth look at the first sales brochures and the color palette of the original 911. The book is rounded off by a detailed buying guide, which “Mr. 901”, Alois Ruf has created exclusively. There is probably no other expert in the world who knows more about the Porsche 901 prototypes and the very early 911s. Alois Ruf also owns the oldest Porsche 911 ever and reveals in an interview how he came to own this sensational one-off.

Porsche Artifacts

Porsche Artifacts

Take an unparalleled view into the secretive rooms of the Porsche Corporate Archives with Artifacts, a comprehensive and artistic insight into the historic items, vehicles, and human stories that have made Porsche what it is today.

Presented by Type 7 and published by ERG Media with Edition Porsche Museum, Artifacts is an abstract, artful perspective with dramatic lighting and high resolution photography. Each item is carefully explored by photographer and lead creative Thomas Walk, focusing on the textures, patina, and history contained within each piece.

Photographed on location in Zuffenhausen, thousands of historical pieces have been curated to a meaningful selection, exploring the full scope of the Archives. Encompassing Porsche family items, equipment from Porsche design and development, Porsche Museum cars, and never seen before glimpses of the Archives.

Spanning across 356 pages, the large-format coffee table book accompanies its photography with a separate pull-out index which tells the story behind each item. The result is a reader experience which evokes that of an archivist exploring the physical history of Porsche.

The team at ERG Media focused heavily on an uncompromising approach to packaging, collaborating with Andy Cruz of House Industries to create a tactile experience which mirrors the feeling of the items captured within, including a bespoke font. Arriving wrapped in a paper design with elements in homage to Porsche 911 Turbo design blueprints, once unwrapped, readers will find an archive box, complete with reinforced metal corners. After breaking a seal, the book’s red slipcase is revealed; inspired by racing pedigree and the thousands of document folders that line the shelves of the Archives. Readers slowly unravel the book as a physical experience, unwinding a string and eventually finding a trove of photographs and information within.

Alwin Springer – Racing with Porsche in North America – Limited edition

Alwin Springer – Racing with Porsche in North America – Limited edition

Growing up in the Ruhr area of Germany, Springer emigrated to Canada in the 1960s, but soon settled in California due to the warmer weather. There, after further improving his skills, the trained car mechanic/electrician found a job with Porsche specialist Vasek Polak and from then on looked after Polak’s Can-Am race cars as a mechanic.

Later, Springer started his own venture Andial with former Polak colleagues Arnold Wagner and Dieter Inzenhofer. The now-legendary tuning company went on to compete successfully in IMSA and, with the Andial engines, enjoyed quite a bit of success in other racing series as well. Andial became the number one address for Porsche customers in the USA, and even at Le Mans, customers of the German marque started using Andial engines. The secret of the California-based German trio: they had entrusted a capable man in Silicon Valley with the task of decoding the engine control system of the Porsche factory and thus making all parameters freely adjustable. Alwin Springer and his team perfected their set-ups in hours of test-bench runs. Morever, Springer also had a key role in the relaunch of Porsche Motorsport North America at the end of 1989 and is still active as a consultant for PMNA today.

Alwin Springer, together with Wilfried Müller, summarises his experiences from Can-Am, IMSA and the modern era at PMNA in 47 entertaining chapters, accompanied by countless photos from his private collection dating back to his early years with Vasek Polak.
